Creating Links

Last Updated: Mar 31, 2016 06:51AM EDT
A link is a word, group of words, or image that you can click on to jump to another page or document. There are three different types of links in StructuredWeb: internal, external and anchors.

What will I find in this article?
Creating an Internal Link
An internal hyperlink is a link that points to a page within StructuredWeb such as a page, form or catalog.

Highlight the text or image that you want to link and choose the Website Links button.

This loads a list of pages on your site. Use the category options on the left side of the window to filter pages, forms, product catalogs and your document library. For example, if you're attempting to link to a document, select the Document Library option.

Locate the page you want to link to and click Insert link. This will insert the link into the content editor.

Creating an External Link
An external hyperlink is a link that points to a page outside of StructuredWeb. An example of an external hyperlink is if you wanted to create a link to Google.

Highlight the text or image you want to hyperlink and select the Link button.

Enter the domain into the URL field.

Select OK when done. This will insert the link into the content editor.

Creating an Anchor Link
Anchor links allow you to link to specific sections within the same page. Place the cursor where you want the anchor and select the Anchor button.

Provide the anchor a name and click OK.

You will see a red anchor symbol where you placed the anchor.

Highlight the text or image that you want to link to the anchor and select the Link button.

Under the Link Type dropdown, select Link to anchor in the text.

Use the By Anchor Name dropdown to select the anchor name and click OK.
