Before you can begin executing email campaigns, contacts must be imported. Importing contacts into groups segments your database and allows you to quickly access contacts and add contacts to mailing lists.

Getting There

From the Contacts tab click the Add button.  A list of options will be displayed.  Select Import.

Import Wizard

To begin the import you will want to have your file ready in CSV format. Select the Choose File button, locate the CSV file on your computer and click the Open button.

Check the box to accept the Data Processing and Privacy Agreement. Select the Upload button.

The left hand column displays the contact fields within StructuredWeb. The right hand column displays the fields to be imported via the CSV file. The import wizard will attempt to match each field automatically; you must double check and make sure all the fields are matched properly. Match fields by selecting the drop down arrow and choosing the appropriate matching field. After all the fields have been matched click the Continue button located at the bottom of the page.

By default you will import this file into a new group. This will make the contacts easier to find in the future. You can rename the group as needed.

Beyond the basic new group option, you also have a couple more advanced options:

  • Import into an existing group: Use the drop down to select a previously created group.

  • Import into a new group: Create a new group by typing the name of the group into the text field.

Confirm your group selection and click Run Import.

When the import is completed you will be provided a summary of Ignored, Updated and New customers. To download the list of ignored customers, select Download.

Note: If your list has contacts that were ignored because they are owned by another user, rerun the import and on the Advanced Options page select the option to Set record owner based on import data. Then select Overwrite existing record owner based on import data

When you reach the Associate Customers with Users page, set the drop down to None. This should allow you to complete the import as normal.
